Elon Musk’s company SpaceX has successfully landed a rocket weighing 300 tons and the size of a 25-story building safely back on Earth. This is no small feat. Not only is its importance limited, but after this one success the speed and direction of scientific and economic development will change dramatically, because it will now be almost as easy and cheap to get a person into space as it is today from one continent to another.
